Karl initiated and chaired the Save Our Sealife constitutional amendment campaign that transformed Florida’s inshore fisheries by banning gill nets and limiting other nets. He has been a leader of the Coastal Conservation Association of Florida and was instrumental in its start-up more than 20 years ago.
