It may sound elementary, and since fish really aren’t that smart, let’s not get too complicated. Fish want clean water and an easy meal. When it comes to inshore game fish, that live in and around tidal estuaries, it’s easy to see why tides affect so much. They bring clean water and feeding opportunities like a roach-coach to a construction site.
In this week’s show, editor Terry Gibson and Capt. Scott Wagner wait for the tide to bring the reds onto a crab infested flat of spartina grass. As for Frank Bolin and Capt. Terry Parsons, they follow the clean ocean water back up into where it brings clean salty water into fresh, creating a lunch line for reds and other backcountry game fish.
