If you’ve read at least one fishing magazine or watched a single fishing TV show, you’ve probably heard the phrase “match the hatch”. Fish with a bait similar to what the fish are feeding on. And if you’ve read two fishing magazines and watched three TV shows, you’ve heard “elephants eat peanuts”. Well, we’re going to talk about both in this show of Shallow Water Angler.

Often what happens, as you grow tired of casting and not hooking up, to explosions of fish busting the surface, you’re fishing with a lure that’s too big and doesn’t resemble the action or look of what the fish are eating. At that point, it’s time to get the bag of peanuts out and match the hatch.
