SHOW DESCRIPTION
If you’ve ever heard someone say, “there’s no one perfect boat”, and thought, there must be. You’re wrong, there isn’t. If you’re an inshore angler there are just too many fishing opportunities out there for one boat. Granted, some are close, but to have the best boat for everything a flat throws at you, three boats are what you’d need.
A technical poling skiff is the answer when you’ve got short runs and water less than a foot. Crossover skiffs are bigger flats boats, perfect if you have to run across open water, yet still want fishing stealth. A bay boat is for the angler that can’t resist migrating species near shore, yet still wants to fish skinny water much of the time.
Tune in this week as editor Dave Conway gets ultra-skinny in the protected waters of Mosquito Lagoon in a poling skiff and then we head south and the less protected area of the St. Lucie River with Blair Wickstrom on a larger 22-foot flats boat.
